ITV News is searching for the region’s brightest young broadcast journalists. Could 2009 be the year your school makes its television debut?

In association with the Big Lottery Fund and b-live, ITV News has launched Over to You — a regional Search for the most talented young newshounds.

In the news
The region’s most impressive student journalists will be invited to spend the day filming their community story — working alongside broadcast professionals to produce their own story — filming and possibly broadcasting their report in the six o’clock news programme.

As well as gaining insight into the workings of the broadcast news industry, all participating students will be given the chance to develop core communication, analytical and production skills.

All you have to do is send in your ideas for a TV news piece and if they impress the news team at ITV News, then you will have the chance for your item to be filmed and shown on a news programme.

How to enter
To enter, you need to be in Year 8, 9, 10, or 11.
